Pacific Rim Engineered Products – PREP manufactures custom parallel shaft gear units commonly used in continuous heavy duty industrial applications such as mining, oil and gas, pulp and paper, marine, cement, forestry and bulk material handling. These gear units can be custom-designed or can be drop-in replacements for an existing application.
Our units are diligently designed to ensure quiet operation with improved shock loading and extended life. Our helical gears are case hardened and ground according to AGMA standards, the pinions are crowned to reduce the dynamic misalignment between the shafts and tooth geometry is optimized for each application.
Our fully welded and stress relieved fabricated steel housings are machined to exacting tolerances by modern CNC equipment. This allows for precise bearing and shafting alignment. All bearing, lube and cooling systems are carefully checked to suit the application. Where possible, off-the-shelf components are used.
